What am I is what I am.

I am a play actor. I play the role of the ignorant and daft daughter. I assume the role of the insecure black sheep of the family. I also am the one who has too much. And the one who is never satisfied and is always asking for more. I also play the younger sister who only exist when she's needed to paint a perfect picture.

But what I really am is the one who feeds all your egos so that you're happy.

August Favourites

I usually hate these kind of posts when I see them on other blogs. But I'm doing it anyways, because I think in the future I'd like to know what kind of things I was listening to back when I was a teen.

1. Latch- Disclosure ft Sam Smith
If you think this song is too mainstream or too sexy for your liking (LOL), then theres the acoustic version for you. It's amazing how Sam make the song sound sweet and sexy with the same set of lyrics.

Latch Acoustic Version

2. Of The Night-Bastille
This is waayyy better than that stupid EH EH OH EH OH song. It's a remade song though, from Corona's Of the Night but this song insinuates a different meaning from Corona's.

3.Let Go- RAC

4. Hooked On A Feeling-Blue Suede/Swede?

Listening to this song on YT is a bunch of funs because of the GOTG discussions/arguments that goes on in the comments section. Hey, it's not a bad thing, I even join in sometimes. I say sometimes because I listen to this song everyday.

5.Do I Wanna Know-Artic Monkeys
Thanks you so much to the classmate of mine who sings this everyday until I have to come home and listen to this song.

6. Final Fantasy 13-2 OST-The Last Travel
Because I missed Distant Worlds.

What you need to bring to NS / PLKN

You'll be allowed to bring one luggage and one bagpack/hand-carrier bag to NS. So make sure your luggage is as big as possible cos there are no size limits.
I'll start with the basics.

Toiletries
-toothbrush. A toothbrush cover is better
-toothpaste. One of those middle sized tube should be enough
-shampoo,body wash (get those with cooling mint effect, damn shiok esp on hot days, which is almost everyday)
-conditioner,for ladies only lol since guys you botak. REALLY MUST BRING cos your hair will get damaged terribly. Leave-on conditioners are much better
-face wash (try to get those with UV protection or extra whitening ones. it helps, trust me)
-shaving cream, if you want. I think shavers are provided for guys
-sanitary pad for the ladies+some papers to wrap. You MUST wrap, for extraordinary purposes
-Clothes detergent
-Clothes brush,to scrub your shirt la
-Powder,deodarant. Seriously la,be considerate of your dorm mates and company mates. They have noses you know

Clothes
-innerwears. If you think you are too lazy to wash clothes, then bring 7 pairs to last a week so you only need to do washing once a week. However, you will suffer being called pengotor by dorm mates lol
-One or two pairs of traditional outfit. For those who don't have, any other outfits will do as long as it isn't tight-fitting, IS a long pants/skirt, and not too revealing. Best bet it collared-buttoned shirts with long office-ish pants. Oh ya, jeans are also not allowed
-Pajamas. Make sure your pajamas is cooling material and is not sexy. About 2-3 pairs will do. What I did was pack my pajamas tees that is loose so that when we are allowed to wear baju bebas, I just wear the pajamas paired with long pants. No need pack so much :)
-Jacket/sweater in case you get fever
-Tudung/telekong. All muslimahs HAVE TO wear it.
-One or two pairs of socks
-Your own pair of sports shoes. This is optional. You can wear your own shoes for more style on the rare occasions where baju bebas is allowed
-SLIPPERS IS A MUST!! Make sure it is anti-slip as you will be wearing it into the toilet. You can buy those cheap RM10 slippers so you don't have to bring it back at the end of service. Can just leave there and save baggage space lol

Other Necessities
-Bedsheet,blanket,pillow,bantal busuk if you think you cannot sleep unless you have your stuff from home. They'll provide bedsheet, pillowcase, blanket and pillow

-Pail. I know the NS letter tells you not to bring, but JUST BRING. Cos when you reach there, they'll make you buy pails from them -_- Bring those big-medium pail cos sometimes you need to wash your own loreng, and that takes up alot of space

-Clothes hangers & pegs. About 15-20 hangers should be enough, and bring double of the amount of hangers for your pegs. If you lazy to carry, you can buy from camp also

-Sunblock. Get the highest SPF you can. Preferably 100 above ones. Even at SPF 80,your skin will still change colour

-Mosquito repellant

-Cupboard freshener & anti-pest balls. Seriously, there's alot of ants and in my dorms case, rats too

-Phone!! Don't bring to hi-tech one la after kena steal. You can bring ciplak phone, then bring camera and mp3 player. Jurulatih's will help keep your camera, and you can ask for it during special occasions. As for mp3 players, it wont be confiscated as long as it's not too hi-tech like iPod touch, iPod nano or mp4!!

-Phone charger.

-Ammeltz Yokoyoko.Skip this if you're a regular exerciser cos you're muscle won't feel any strain d la

-Copies of important documents like your IC,birth cert, parents IC and whatever else thats stated in the letter

-Recycle bag. I put my clothes and towel into a bag before going into toilet because sometimes the hooks there is not enough. Bring a few larger ones too for packing your stuff at the end of service

-Torchlight for Ronda Malam. Buy those rechargeable one or else your battery will finish very fast.Get those white light ones, not the yellow light, cos it's brighter

-Alarm clock!! IMPORTANT!! Bring extra batteries too.

-Febreeze.Just do it.

-Hairbands,hair pins, comb for ladies

-Milo 3-in-1, Nestum instant, Dutch Lady milk, Oat Krunch

-Hot water flask. If you think you cannot wait til 7.30 for breakfast you can make 3-in-1 stuff to eat. So fill up your flask with hot water the night before

-Cup that can withstand heat,ie metal or glass. Metal is better. Glass might fall and break.

-Your favourite snack. No need bring to much as camp provide 6 meals a day and they sell snacks too.Best snack is one long canister of potato chip

-Tissue!! Both roll and packet. Wet tissues come in handy too!

-Nails clipper without the filing blade. Can be easily removed with a plier

-Pen,pencil and a notebook

-Medications you will die without like anti-allergy meds

-Water bottle. Size according to how much you drink la

-Lock for your personal locker. Best lock is combination lock as lock with keys, you risk leaving your keys inside the locker and locking it up. Then you have to troublesome-ly bust the lock and buy new one. Bring one for your luggage too so you can use your luggage as extra storage place cos I can tell you, the locker will not be enough for all your stuff to be neat

-Towel,cos the PLKN towel is not absorbent

-Sarong for girls. Makes hot days more bearable

-Spectacle cloth-wiper for those who wear specs hahaha

-Money. Amount is up to you. Try not to bring too much. Maybe get your parents to bring you a certain amount each time they visit

-Brown rubberbands to tie up your unfinished snacks/biscuits. Got tupperware better, but it takes up alot of space

-For chinese: You might want to bring some talisman's for 'protection'

This is written with my camp (Kem Akedemi Kepimpinan Segari) in mind. Different camp has different rules,so what I write that is okay to bring may not be okay in your camp. Please bear this in mind.

That's about it. I'll update more if I can remember!!~

Kem Akademi Kepimpinan Segari

It's kind of a mouthful to say it out, so it's commonly known as Kem Segari to us Segarians.

A little bit about the camp, it's considered quite a huge camp, compared to others that I've seen, and it's built beside a hugeeeee Malaysian Flour Mill factory. I'm not even joking when I say huge. Like seriously, you can see it looming in the sky from every corner of the camp. Let me show you

Very picturesque right hahaha

See. You can probably already tell which is the factory even without me pointing it out. I mean come on, it's dominating the whole picture. But in case you can't tell, it's this one la

Beside this huge-ass factory, on the left side, is another factory. This one is Dindings, as in the Ayam Dindings,I assume. I assume so cos you can see the ALOT of chicken coops whilst entering the camp. You would think that since Dindings is there, the camp must get a alot of free drumsticks, nuggets and chicken patties right? The answer is NO. All you get is the aroma of smelly, disgusting chicken innards as you sing, exercise and march. Bear in mind that these activities are to be done without as much as a single twitch. So you have to suck it up,be a man, and bear the smell. You'll get used to it somehow.

Here's an aerial view of the camp taken from Google and I've outlined the important stuff in the camp.

Entrance 1 is the entrance where us trainees move in and out
Entrance 2- is for outsiders like our parents when they come to visit
Purple-Dobi where you go to collect your washed clothes. You need to be vary when you're at the dobi cos            opposite of the dobi is the boys toilet -_- I mean there's a wall and all but some boys like to peek                  over the wall in nothing but their glorious  blue NS towels. They know when you're there cos the only             time  in the schedule to go to the dobi is right after lunch
Dark Green-Padang Kawad
Red-Classrooms. There are 3 classroom areas
Dark Blue-Boys dorm area. I'm not sure if my mapping of the boys dorm is correct cos I haven't been in                        there.
Pink-Girls dorm area. Strictly no boys yo!! Any boys found near the entrance of girls dorm will be lectured!!
White-Toilets
Yellow squares- TV room. They have Astro channels, but its limited. They have S-ONE though :D Good                                 enough for me
Black-The Juru Latih Bertugas room. Called JLB in camp
Grey- The canteen/cafeteria. You'll be here 6 times a day
Light Blue-The mosque, where the wi-fi signal is the strongest -_-
Light Green- Office and clinic, the only places where there is aircond. When I have business in the office or                         clinic,I always try to take as much time as possible for the aircond hahaha
Orange- Komanden's house!! It's pretty small, and all trainees will be there at least once for the Perisai                      Zaman game. Otherwise, you'll hardly see it cos it's covered with trees and the sign pointing to it is                 faded
The other purple in front of the black is the smaller dobi. This dobi is for your bedsheets, blankets and pillowcase. You can also buy pail, clothes peg, padlocks and hangers here.
I've also missed out the Mini-Mart(MM). MM sells things like cup noodles, ice-cream, canned drinks, various keropoks, sweets and more. Only opens twice a day though,on riadah time and supper time. Rarely in the afternoon but they'll make an announcement when it does. My friend's camp opens the whole day :(
Oh,and also, there are actually toilets near the mosque area so you don't need to run back to the dorm area when you wanna pee during lunchtime or classtime.

Moving on,I'll show you the things you see before reaching camp. Like on the way to camp yo.

All these are from Seri Manjung

THE intersection where there is Aeon,Giant and Tesco all together lolol

Getting nearer to camp, you start seeing all these factories. These are just some of it. I didnt take all la cos that stretch of road leading to camp is really long. Like 30-20 minutes drive long.
Getting nearer to the camp....

These are right outside the camp entrance d. All those ships are from the Manjung Port one. And fyi, thats not the sea, thats just a river.

Not much pics of the camp lol cos all these were actually taken when I was half-way thru service. So by that time, you just felt like "WHY WANNA TAKE PIC?? EVERYDAY STUCK INSIDE NOT ENOUGH AH?"
Seriously regretting that attitude now hahaha cos when I miss the camp I have no pics of it to remember by. Taisei.

Next, inside of the camp!!~ You've already seen the  most important part of it, the Padang Kawad.

Girls Dorm Area

This is the edge of the camp from the girls dorm. You can actually see the river from here. Sometimes, when there is a big ship at the port, you can see it from here too. There'll be plenty of lights.

The toilets!!~ Each dorm has their own toilet so one toilet will be shared between 20-25 persons?
The kolam. You can use the water filled to wash clothes and bathe too, but the water here is usually colder and dirtier :T Insects fly into it all the time. You know, one of the toilet had a hole in the roof so a monkey actually came down from the roof hole to swim in the kolam :\\\\\ One of the girls said she could see the monkeys hair in the kolam after.
Beyond that is the sink. My dorms' toilet only had 3 working sink out of all those you see in the pic

Other side, opposite the kolam is tabletops where you can wash your clothes on.Pails can be kept under. I keep my shampoos and detergent in my pail. My more expensive facewash and conditioner I keep in my locker lol. On the times where I am using my pail,I leave my stuff on the countertop. See that purple bottle with yellow  cap and blue bottle at the end there? Das mein :D
Poop-pee toilets on the left, and shower stalls on the right.

Where we hang our clothes. Hihi this pic was actually taken after I hung my clothes.
CAN YOU SEE THE FACTORY!!??

Trainees going off for prayers

You see where that black car is? Thats where the payphone is yo. So make sure you have plenty of coins or a payphone card.  The MM sells payphone cards, but its always out of stock -_-

Entrance to our rooms~

.A well made bed. Or rather, MY well made bed :D

Introduction

So, hello! :D I actually wanted to start a  blog to help future NS trainees cos when I first got selected, the first thing I did was to Google up my camp(Kem Akademi Kepimpinan Segari or Kem Segari simply) to see how it looks like. To my suprise (not really), there was very little info on my camp. When the day came for us to board the NS bus, I had no clue of how the camp looks like :/ So yeah,I thought I'd be a good Samaritan and post up my experience of NS in Kem Segari and more.

Also, I had always wanted to blog but never had the excuse to start one. Well, now I do so I just hope I'm not too lazy to continue blogging hurmm
